Join us sundays at 10:00am

Communion is a sacred time of remembrance and great anticipation as we look backward, inward and forward! Join us each month, typically on the 3rd Sunday, as we gather as a church family to partake in The Lord's Table.

Communion is a beautiful commemoration that invovles three essential aspects:

Looking Backward

In the tradition of the Lord's Supper, instituted by Christ on the night of His betrayal, we reach backward to the roots found in the book of Exodus. Drawing parallels to the Passover meal, our Communion serves as a profound reminder of God's grace in delivering His people. While the Old Testament Passover recalled God's deliverance from Egypt, the Lord's Supper magnifies the gracious deliverance of all believers from their sins, forever sparing them in divine judgment.

Looking Inward

Following the guidance of Paul in 1 Corinthians 11:27–29, we approach the Lord's table with a call for introspection. Before partaking in Communion, we soberly examine ourselves, ensuring our hearts align with a genuine and worthy faith. As we remember the precious sacrifice of Christ, it is crucial that we discern our motives and attitudes, approaching Him in a manner that is both sincere and pleasing.

1 Corinthians 11:27-29 (ESV): "Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself."

Looking Forward

Anticipate the future with us as Communion points towards the "marriage supper" described in Revelation 19:6-9. In this glorious event, we celebrate the ultimate victory over death and witness the consummation of the union between Christ and His bride—the church. As we participate in Communion, we joyfully reach forward in expectation of the magnificent reality awaiting believers.

Focusing Our Hearts & Minds Communion is a multifaceted practice for believers, displaying the glory of God in His delivering work throughout the past, present, and future. It serves as a constant reminder of the significance we find in Christ, bringing our hearts and minds into focused worship of His redeeming love.
